House Captains

When children join KPJA they are allocated to one of our four Houses.

  • East
  • Gotch
  • Knibb
  • Wicksteed

The house names were suggested by children following a competition to name the houses - each house is named after an important person from Kettering.

Children can earn housepoints for their house by following and demonstrating the School's Values.  In addition to the individual housepoint tokens, children can earn a special 10 housepoint star token if they are nominated by their class teacher for one of out special 'Star of the Week' awards.  These are announced each week during our special assemblies when our 'Stars' and their achievements are celebrated by the whole school.

The total of housepoints earned each week is calculated by Year 6 children and a weekly total and a termly running total are announced in our celebration assemblies.  The children await the weekly declaration with keen interest to see if their house has earned the most points.

Our House Captains and Vice Captains are Year 6 children who are elected by their respective houses.  They represent the school in a number of ways, organise assemblies and welcome visitors to our school.

Our House Captain elections take place during the first few weeks of the new school year.
