Kettering-Park-Junior-Academy
sports team

Dear Families,

July is always a bittersweet time of year as we say goodbye to staff members and our Year 6 pupils. We would like to wish them all well as they move on to the next phases, challenges and adventures in their lives.

We also celebrate the end of an extremely busy summer term and our first as an Academy. The children have worked tirelessly right up to the last      minute demonstrating on a daily basis our Park values of curiosity,           community and creativity in every aspect of their academy lives whether it be in cookery (bread and pizza this week, mmmm!), sports day, residentials, maths multiples challenges or developing their handwriting, to name a few. We are immensely proud of all of their individual   achievements.

Dear Families,

We have completed our first month as an academy and behind the scenes many changes are taking place.

Discussions have taken place regarding our Academy ethos, we have identified leaning progress, physical wellbeing and mental wellbeing as being essential to all of us as part of the Park family, and are looking at developing these through the lenses of creativity, community and curiosity.

Dear Families,

We made a pledge to our children that we would put ‘Reading at the Heart of the School’ and have physically achieved that by moving the Library into the central hall.  We have purchased a great quantity of new fiction books, which the children are   thoroughly  enjoying and restructured the reading scheme to ensure children have  access to a wider range of books, removing the banded scheme which was sometimes restricting their progress.  The library is now a prominent feature of learning in our school and we are overjoyed to see it being used frequently in many different ways including the 10 minute in school reading pledge.

Winter Wonderland

A massive thank you to everyone who supported this year’s Winter Wonderland. Once again it was a huge success raising just over £1,178. The Christmas school disco raised a staggering £300 so far!

The PTA would like to thank everyone involved. And we’d like to thank the PTA for the phenomenal efforts this year with the Halloween disco, Winter Wonderland, Christmas Disco & Raffle. Their next event will be the Valentines Disco.

The Romans - Year 3

As part of their History topic Year 3 invited a specialist into the school to learn about life as a Roman Soldier and the battles between the Romans and the Celts. The children enjoyed taking part in fun activities whilst learning facts about the Romans and developing their skills as historians. Year 3 look forward to their Roman Day on 9th June.

Healthier Child Project 2020

The project started in September 2014, and there are currently 84 Primary Schools participating in this academic year. The project enables schools to link together and access a range of services and resources. A team of four Healthy Child Advisors visit schools to provide support to help them improve health & wellbeing within the school community. The children enjoyed learning about healthy eating and took part in various physical activities.
